I want to keep my stock unit in - but still have decent music. Is this possible? What other things have you guys done? Glovebox mounted cd player?

Pull your deck out, look on the back for a round plug. You will likely not be finding an adapter, but I bet someone somewhere has a DIY...

I wouldn't mind assing a cheapo head unit - but last time the wiring was retarded. I couldn't use balance or fade because of how weird it was. should I run new wired to the amp?

What I am gonna do for my sons car (if the little fucker ever gets a JOB!) is use the stock deck with the "Aux In" mod described on Emo30tech, his Samsung T9 (best cheap MP3 player out there, IMO) running to a small 4 channel amp for mids and highs and then off to a sub amp for bass.

Lots of 4 channel amps have a pair of RCAs intended to be a "Summed Output" meaning that it will remain constant when faded front to rear, meant to feed a sub amp. Then, it will be simple enough to use a sub amp with a level control (dash mounted knob) so he will have full control, but MP3 and AM/FM only...easy and cheap.

Is that wire plugged into the top right of the pic the antenna or the CD changer input?

Yes great writeup and thanks for finding it for us Luke, I have it printed and sitting in my car as I'm looking to try it in my Blaupunkt MR 105 Madrid, I'm trying to get something retro but different. I can't figure out what you solder the lead to in the radio, is it the head or what should I look for????

                            Kindly advise.

                            Thanks again.....
