115 AMP alternator, is there any danger?

Ok so just honestly, the alternator will fit, but does it pose any danger?
Its the higher AMP one that bolts right on from the M20 in the E34 and E36.
I heard on various other sites (not here) that it can pose problems with blowing fuses or something to that effect.
Is it safe to just put it in?

Do you have some crazy car stereo or something? I haven't had any problems with my stock alt at all. There is no point putting a huge alt on there unless you are drawing a huge amount of amps constantly.

        yes sir!
also the reason i wanted to put it in, is (and dont laugh) because i think it looks cool with the cold air intake on it.
I have just a basic stereo, dont ever plan on putting an amp or expensive stereo since its a track/daily driver

what e36 has a m20? I thought the only engine shared between e30's and 36's were the late 1.8 m42's were on the early e36 318's in a slightly different form.

You MUST be thinking M50. I dont know of any M20 e34's either.

Put it in if you want, I don't know how the hell people come to the conclusion its gonna blow fuses. You'll be fine.

when people do m50 swaps, that alternator is used, and it works just fine.

if you can swap the pully and make it fit- go for it!

                          I've got a 140amp alternator from a 735i in my car :)
