    subwoofer or bazooka questions

I have infinity reference series speakers and a panasonic xm head unit. I have decided that I want to add some bass and an amp. I want to keep this on the smaller budget. I have another vehicle that I went the whole route with and even did sound deadening. This I want to keep reasonable. I was hoping to put in a cheap amp and a bazooka tube. What do you think. I have an 87 325is.

I don't think you'll hear a Bazooka tube through the trunk very well. Maybe if you wanted to put it inside you might. I think they're more meant for SUVs, wagons, etc.

bazookas are horrible. i didnt know they still existed. only way youd ever hear one is if you put it on the floor behind the drivers seat.

i hear luke coming, i better go!

I had a bazooooooka in my 325is in high school (circa pre-2001).
It was acceptable at best. It did indeed give you added low end, but you weren't going to win any sound qaulity/noise competitions.
Mine was an all inclusive tube... the sub/tube/amp were all in one.

        I later upgraded to a 12" sub & amp.

Do you have fabrication skills, a table saw and a cabinet stapler? Can you cut metal under the rear deck? If so, you can build fucking awesome bass for under $250 total.

A single 10" Sony sub from Walmart, a dirt fucking cheap Sony 4 channel amp (also from Wallymart), half a sheet of 3/4" MDF, 2 pair of RCAs and some miscellaneous wire, 2) 3" port tubes, some 3" PVC, a couple of couplers...and some skills.

Let me know your fabrication skill level, I will send you some specs to build from.
