for like 2 days now since my gas guage was on 1/4 mark till the light came on it was saying I had 19m. After the light came on it jumped up to like 26 and finally 31. Anyone else ever seen this? I thought theses things were fairly accurate. It has also been saying I have 3.5l left for the same amount of time.

If i'm understanding your question... Bear in mind the range thing is basically mpg x how much gas is in your tank... So it varies by:
how far you're travelling (eg, not stopped at idle), how hard you're driving... And whatever the tank sender is saying re: how much gas is left. Take a hard turn, go up or down a big hill, and the sender may see a different amt of gas based on how it's sloshing around....
