    Amp question, StereoInstaller1!! :)

Ok, I am specing out a system for my jetta. But I got a quick question. First off heres the setup

Phoenix Gold RSD front speakers (no gonna use any rears)
RE SR12 Sub (DVC available in 2 or 4 ohms)
    Candence TXA-6004 4chan amp

Should I get a 4ohm DVC sub, bridge 2 channels on the amp, wire the sub in parallel for 2ohms, and put that onto the 2 bridged channels? That should be 2ohms at 600w for the sub right? Then with the other 2 channels I can drive the speakers off that at 4 ohms.

Or, should I get a 2ohm DVC sub, don't bridge the channels, and just hook each voice coil up to a channel? Wouldn't that be the same thing?

Also, can I even do any of that? Just wanna make sure lol.

Nope...if you are gonna run just that amp, use a DVC 2 ohm per coil, so you end up with a 4 ohm mono load to 2 channels, then the components on the other 2 channels.

If you try 2 ohms mono, that is the same as 1 ohm per channel, thus smokeage of amplificator.

later, if you decide to upgrade, you can buy a 1 ohm stable mono sub amp to drive the sub, then you would use 2 channels of the 4 channel to run the mids, the other 2 channels to run just the tweets, with an external 3 way crossover.

BTW, I though you didn't believe in stereos?
