Theyd probably figure the battery is dead and then move on. So you say you havent had any problems with yours? Just push in the lighter and start as normal?
Exactly, everything works exept for the starter when the sig. lighter is out......It's the baddest

So this is just my take on things here. So if you have an e30, who is most likly to steal it?? another BMW owner, where are they going to go to get info on how to steal said e30 or where to find one? here.....so who now knows that they need to add a cig lighter to their theiving kits? Thats right the thief who now knows that there are by passes in some of your cars.

If your going to make a starter/fuel kill switch, dont post it on a public forum.

Thanks for your deep insight there noob, but I'm looking for technical info not opinions necesssarily. and no it's not the local e30 owners I'm worried about, but dumb fucking street hoods who want to gank my car in downtown. Should i speak in code language to get the info I'm looking for so no one knows who I am?

I think a large majority of car thefts are purely joy rides, so it doesn't really matter what car it is. They steal it just to drive it around and beat the shit out of it. So the fact that it is an e30 is a moot point.

thanks for calling me a noob! first off I just joined this board yea, but I've been working on e30's for over 10 years, I've owned 13 of them, and about 8 other BMW models. If you want to make a starter kill then just use some common sense. There are tons of wires under the dash will not let the car run poke around and find one, maybe put a micro switch in your cig lighter that is hooked up to one of those wires. When you put in you lighter it depresses the switch making the wire live again. Or you could use the factory immobilizer in the OBC, no "street hoods" would know they need to enter in a special code to start the car.

Why is it that people think that just cause someone joins the board and doesnt have alot of post under their belt it means they dont know what they are doing....I never joined this board cause I've heard so many people tell me that r3v is full of dicks, I figured I would give it a chance and see if I can help some people with their broken cars, guess cause I'm a "noob" on the board no one thinks I have any credit.

look, I agree, i think a lot of boards are full of a lot of dicks and i hate that too, really. But your post just seemed a little snobby to me and I didnt appreciate being talked down to like I'm some dumb ass kid who doesnt know shit. Maybe I dont have your vast knowledge of bimmers, but that is what a board is for, information, and I dont want to just go "poking around" with wires under my dash. And yes you are new here, hence the title noobie under your name, so maybe you should come with something a little more helpful for one or your first posts before you start with the cynicism. As for calling me an ass, that's a different story. I try to be polite to everyone here, including people who put big ass wings from pep boys on thier e30's and want opinions on how it looks. Sorry if I offended you, but post something helpful(like you kinda did in your second one) or just dont post. TIA.

No. For that diagram, move the wire from 87a to 30, and you will be good.

Oh yea, do you have the 13 button OBC? The code feature is your best bet.

thanks Dave. I did an OBC retro fit to mine and i dont think I have all the necessary componenets for the code feature.

fyi, theres park switch lines near the shifter. open that circuit and the car wont start. only thing about it is it needs to be open to run cruise.
