The RFX-8250 is your best bet as far as headunits go.

Alpine rocks, but I am not familar with their new products. I have a generic decent one in my car (came with), and I like it, but my old V-Drive kicked ass.

If you can get V-Drive amp (60Wx4) and BBE processor, jump on it. I dunno what Alpine offers have that.

Are you are most certainly not as much of an audiophile as many other members on this board.

You should only run speakers off a built in amp on a deck if you absolutely must, or cannot afford a good external amp.

I must not be. I dunno why you'd need more than some quality co-axials and Alpine V-drive in a driver's car.

But then again, I'm not an audiophile, besides the sound of an inline-six. ;)

The 45z was the best that Nak made that year in the Z series. It has a 24-bit DAC and 3-sets of preamp outs. Don't skimp on the RCA cables or you might as well buy a $99 K-Mart Special deck. www.carmedia1.com has some REALLY good deals on nice Directed Audio RCAs.

The Nak will outperform that JVC on it's worst day. The Nak unit is 100x better.
