How do you guys feel about alpine or pioneer premier.
I have a 2 channel Pioneer Premier (300 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms) and will be getting my 4 channel Pioneer Premier (75 RMS per channel at 4 ohms)
The 4 channel I was going to connect to 6 1/2 Alpine Type R components in the front , assuming cutting the metal isn't that difficult. If its something that won't work then I'll go for the 5 1/4 components . For the rears I was either going for the 5 x 7's two ways if I can fit them within the stock pods after I gut it or 5 1/4 two ways (easiest) or 5 1/4 components (Not sure if its worth the extra price but I can mount the tweeter in the stock location or outside somewhere).
The two channel I was going to hook to 2 10" Alpine Type R's subs (Wired so that they are 2 ohms each) in a sealed box. The box I was either going to just have it firing towards the rear of the car or towards the front with an extention attached to the steel panel so that more sound would want to travel through the ski bag hole.
I was originally going to build my own box with ports coming through the rear deck but decided it would be too much work and I also have a rear strut bar (I do not want to get rid of it) so Luke's box would not work for me.
Just looking for honest criticism of any and all of my ideas and I know that I might get attacked but please make other suggestions and I will toatally take it into consideration.
Thanks guys

I have a 10" MTX 5500 Thunder series sub, with a SLP 400w amp pushing it, I have yet to go over half-way on the level of the amp because Im still breaking it in and it hits pretty damn hard. Enough to make the truck rattle and sound like shit, also if you have a DB bumpers the black plastic piece thats on the top of the metal also vibrates fairly bad also. It sounds really good, I would have liked a little more but i cant argue with only having 160 bucks invested in the whole system. Check out www.Millionbuy.com they have killer deals.

i have a 12" JL running from a alpine 400w amp, very nice bass and doesnt rattle the trunk at all, might be because of the sound deadening but sounds very good and stays in the trunk.

Wow, I used to rock Kicker like 10 years ago when I was just getting into what I thought was great sound. 2 12" competition subs. I have not used them since that setup but I guess you start noticing less is more with age.
Did they ever make anything good? Like I believe Fostgate did, with the first punch amps. That is what I used to power them with.

The 2 amps I have in my car retail at $900.
I can do both for $520, plus shipping.
I would guess that is WAY out of your price range.
Get some model numbers on the MTX stuff, I will check my costs and get back to you.

And besides, they sell kicker at Wal-mart. Most of us already knew it was crap. :)

I can cut you a hell of a deal on Exile if you want top of the line product. It really is the best chinese made stuff I have ever seen. Plus, it is really pretty...
Luke

Luke, what amps would you recommend. Just curious about that. I see you recommend exile, are there any others?

If he can get MTX, decide what pieces you want and I can check prices to see if it is in fact a good deal. I am an MTX dealer, but I get shit for pricing...since I don't buy truckloads of stuff.

well he can only get his employee discount of 75% off of kicker and mtx ( i beleive) so my selection is not very big of what to get.. im gonna go with the kicker stuff and if it sucks i can just resell i guess.. unless something else comes up.
