    Passenger door inside lights

My 89 has a wierd issue, the lights and timer work fine on the drivers door, but are dead on the passenger side. I changed the switch..nuthin. What the fuck? I have the wiring diagrams and there are no other solenoids or connectors that I can see. Help I did do a got zip.

Ever heard of a voltmeter? Especially if you have all the diagrams.

Thanks that really cleared it up. I now have extra experience that can only be learned on a tech forum.

A voltmeter is a terrible tool to trace things with. A voltmeter should be used to MEASURE only. Instead, use a test light.

My guess is there is a disconnected wire somewhere on the drivers side. Trace the wires from the switch back and see what you find. I "think" there is access to the back of the switch by removing the kick panel and pulling out the speaker.

Try this: Pull the switch out of your passenger side. Disconnect the wire. Push the connector on the end of the wire firmly against a ground.

If the light works, your switch is fucked. If is does not work, YOU are fucked.

          Har-dee-fucking-har-har.

So, you would likely need to either trace and find the break, or simply run a new wire from the door switch over to the relays. Running the new wire is easy, but not as "pristine" as actually finding and fixing.

So, yeah, lets hope that switch is fucked.
