    Ok, I bought a Kenwood KDC-MP435U

It was on sale and came with a free iPod cable, which is sweet.

The other thing I want to do with this head unit is ditch my add on Sirius reciever and make it work through the Kenwood. From what the guy at Best Buy was saying, I though I didn't need any other adapter. I'm pretty sure he was wrong.

    Is this what i need?

You may run into the same problem I have right now with my Kenwood KDC-X889 which is I can have my Zune connected or my Sirius satelite but not both since there is only 1 cable connector on the back that the Sirius tuner or the AUX connector I have for my Zune. Does the iPod connector use the same port?

Guys, if you look for the satellite box actually made by kenwood (here is one on CL: http://pensacola.craigslist.org/ele/543807724.html) it has a pass through to allow daisy chaining of 2 databus components.

Alternately, you could use the KCA-S220A switcher, which allows 2 databus inputs and an aux RCA input: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IKWB2C?...0&linkCode=asn

So Luke, do I need what I linked in my original post to make it work. It has a front connection for USB so I know I can hook up both at once, that's no problem.

Yes, that sirius box will do fine as long as you use the iPod through the USB.

On a similar note, we just installed Browntowns Sirius antenna on the rear deck of his coupe. Seems to get fine reception, but might not work too well in mountains...have to test it somehow.

I have my XM antenna on top of my dash, behind the cluster. I used to have it (with my old system) on the trunk lid and it does just as well through the mountains in either case (not all that well).

I picked up the KCA-SR50 and the SC-C1 for $93 shipped.

I currently have my Sirius antenna in the passenger side corner of the dash. Works fine for me.

On the note of the ipod, is there any way I can hook it up to the back of the radio and still have it charge? Right now it's hooked up through the front USB.

Matt, with Kenwood being the fags they are, you cannot easily do that.

Most manufacturers have some kind of iPod controller that plugs into the changer port.

Kenwood does not...so USB is the only input that the deck can control the iPod through.

If you want, there are several adapters that will charge the iPod adn give you an audio output you could run into your AUX input, but then you are controlling the iPod directly, not on the deck.

Luke, that is odd because I thought it would work that way as well and I connected it all and ...... nothing. Is there any trick to get it to see the other device? I would really like to not give Kenwood any more of my money if possible.

I was daisychaining Siruis, a CD changer and a MD changer using the KCAS220A. I know for a fact that the limit of items chained is three, because Kenwood is FAGS!

So you are trying to use the AUX cable into the SR901 or SR902 and no luck?

Did you call tech support? See if you can get some help there, or call me.

Kenwood has no outboard USB box, piss poor Bluetooth, no decent motorized face, no hard drive support...what a bummer.
