    Will a 325i ICM work for a 325e?

    Thanks

    Somehow I doubt it.

Only if you switch the whole harness over along with all the other essential bits so the DME thinks its running an "i' engine .

Probably NOT what you are wanting to do . ;)

There are plenty of Eta DME's on the boards for sale and they go for junk since Etas are crap .

The 325i doesn't have an ICM. The ICM on the eta is the green box next to the ecu.

If you had an 88 325 SuperETA then you could run Motronic 1.1/1.3, however 84 - 87 E's use Motronic 1.0, which has a dual row ECU connector, completely different electrically from the newer models.

The ICM is only present on 84 - 87 E's as well, I's/SuperETA's never had it.

Lol, hey at least it revs to 6.5k all day long. It does only get me 20-22mpg though ...

I think everyone thinks i'm talking about the ECU, not the ICM. But thats the answer I was looking for. Thanks.
