I am wiring my new stereo in my E30 and was wondering if I can grab power to the Sirius system from the Remote lead from the head unit to the amp? The directions just say to connect to battery positive. My question is, does it have to be always hot, or can it be a switched hot?

I answered your PM too, but you really should connect that to constant. If you use switched, you will have to re-initialize every time you drive!

First are you SURE you can connect to +12v with it, or are you using the little voltage adapter they sell?
If you have the cig lighter power adapter, unplug it and plug it back in. Did the radio need to reinitialize? If not, hook it in to switched. Mine does not need to reinitialize every time power is lost, it remembers the last state it was in upon power loss just as if you turned it off with the power button, so I connected mine to switched. I have the Starmate 4.
Now my turn with the question.... Where the hell did you put the damn thing? I'm looking for ideas that don't look like hell, like the windshield mount currently does above the far passenger side vent. If yours is somewhere that looks clean, and has the display fairly visible, post up a pic!
EDIT: reread that.... Remote lead? Depends on your headunit, you might need to go with ignition switched.-Dave

where did you end up putting the antenna? I'll be installing mine in the next week or so.. Just looking for options. :-)Comment

Well, Mine is on the trunklid since that was pretty much the only place I could put it.

My friend's is on his roof. (I know about it being off-center, don't install yours at 12am or it might look the same ;-) )
