Electrical GURU's, please chime in. need to make

a wireless remote to trigger, say, fog/driving lights. figure there has to be a way make some sort of remote so you don't have to tap across the firewall to get a toggle switch. this is for a project car; figure i'll mount the lights and instead of having a toggle switch drilled and wired into the car, have the lights run to a powered box which can be wirelessly activated.
ok, so what would i need and where to get some of these parts? i have a Nassar, Grainger, and other electical specialty shops by me. please educate.
    thanks!

Many car alarms have the ability to do a "latched" output. That would do what you are asking plus add security to your car.

WalMart used to sell something to do just that for $15. Worth a look. Simple two button keyfob, surprisingly decent range too. I hooked it up to a friends headunit. Later out of boredom, it ended up being connected to an older model VW chime with a larger speaker soldered in, and a seperate 12v battery pack with AA batteries. Whole thing was taped together and hidden in a friends truck to drive him (ex VW owner) up the wall. Good stuff, definitely $15 worth of fun there

You want to wirelessly control driving lights because you don't want to run a wire to the cabin? Really? There's already holes there, you just have to run a signal wire through there. Not too hard man.

i just don't feel like taking the interior apart in my e30 to run wires. i also don't feel like drilling holes to hold the switch and find spots for them.

i have a pair of 2000's and a pair of 1000's going on the forward facing roof rack and something to go pointing on the rear rack for high beam driving NYC drivers. i'm also adding a pair of 500 driving with my 500 fogs on the front bumper. No, i cannot have too many lights.
