    so opinions on FM Transmitters

I got a new ipod nano for Christmas and i really want to play the music through my car stereo...however, I don't have a CD changer control for my head unit (Blaupunkt Monte Carlo MP34). Is the FM transmitter my only option? The iTrip's sound like droopy ball sack, so what about the ones that are wired directly into the head unit? Lemme know whats up!

Direct wire is far better, but still lick sweaty sack.

The FM transmitters I tried (Belkin and another I cannot remember) sounded absolutley terrible I would reccomend them only as a last resort or as a novelty item.

Was your connection a direct wire using the antenna plug, or pure wireless?

The wireless ones are far worse.

I bought the Monster self-scanning one as a stopgap for a drive back from KC to SoCal in my new cabrio. It actually worked quite well, especially for audio books where you didn't need the high highs and the low lows. Also, being that we were in a cabrio static noises weren't really discernible. I wouldn't buy one instead of buying a head unit with a way of taking a direct feed, but in a pinch it worked just fine and sounded decent. I paid about $70 on eBay for it.

I'm totally ghetto. I still have the stock cassette deck, and used to run the adapter to a cd player, plugged into the lighter, etc... (spaghetti)
I just threw all that trash away, and plugged the iPod into the cassette adapter. Works.

I'm not super cool: I can't look at what my songs are, sort by artist, title, etc... But it's better than tapes which I can't even buy anymore...
