If you had an mx406 what speakers would you get?

I just acquired a new Mcintosh mx406 and I am trying to decide on some good component speakers to go with it. I haven't heard many different brands, but so far I am sold on the Diamond hex series of speakers. They are the cleanest speakers I have heard yet, which may not say a whole lot. I have not heard, but know of others like Dynaudio and Focal which interest me. Thats pretty much it as far as what I have looked at. I'm not looking for the best of the best here but I am looking for a good high end setup thats clear sounding and won't exceed the value of my car by three fold :)

The amps I will be using are old school PPI Sedonas I have a couple of 200-ix's, 2 100-ix's and a apa 50 right now. I might get a 500-ix for the sub when I get that far.

Focal!!
My old PPI PC2150 and PC650 were running focals in my old e30 and it was soooo good sounding. The polykevlar 13 inch sub sounded great coming from that amp. The components were crisp and loud without clipping at all.

Well I have been shopping around, and I think I might go with the focal k2 series of components. I like the 130kp's and 165k2p's. little higher then I was planning on spending (around $1k), but what the hell I need to spoil my self once in awhile.

That mid is a 7". how much hacking will I have to due to make it fit? Not much info on those speakers. I have heard and read many good things about ribbon tweeters. You have my attention.
