im surprised stereo intaller didnt point that out to you.

go take those back and get some RF Punch or Power's. those are the best damn subs for the money and they give the best bass without requiring all the power. stay away from kickers too, they take up too much power and once they get full they blow.

that being said, hope you have the reciept for those alpines.

question for stereo installer, i dont know what tha f*ck an ohm is but i just wired my punch stage two's into a power acoustik 860 demon amp. bangs like crazy and is so smooth. i never once considered what an ohm was and just bought what i thought was pretty. lol pretty amp+pretty subs= great sound

Selling the subs and amps in this post for exactly what I bought them for. Someone take em, great sound quality and clean, but I was going for obnoxiously loud and pounding.

Got my cousin to toss me a JL 12 W7. And a JL 500/1 amp. I think that that in a sealed box will be much more satisfying in the e30. Plus I could use the cash to offset the cost of some new rims I bought.

BTW if you don't know what ohms are, you shouldn't be hooking up subs. You could very easily hook them up wrong and blow them.

BTW2 Alpine subs are decent entry level type subs and definitely do not suck. I just stuck a swr1242d Type R in a custom ported enclosure in my e30 and it is ludicrously loud. I've heard the RF punches you are talking about and they are decent as well. Almost any sub in the right box will sound pretty good.
