    Steering wheel controls

does anyone here know which steering wheel with controls would be most suitable to put in an e30?

It occured to me that i might have to get an entire steering column to make the steering wheel fit.

wiring would take some effort. i suppose that the most efficient way to make it work would be to use the slip ring from the donor car and the harness/radio as well.

any links or anyone done this before?

I've seen that wheel in an e30 - but without the buttons. The offset is just right and it looks pretty good.

2003 325i so yeah it would be e46.

i just learned that an x5 wheel is heated so maybe i'll go that route.

why you ask? why not is my reply.

well if the one you have is blown then nevermind, i totally didnt see the bag there. a friend of mine tried to install a newer control steering wheel into his z28 and connected the airbag to one of the hot wires...blew it up in his face lol

Well, to be rather blunt, thats his own fault. Millions of people are driving around with airbags in front of their face as you read this- They seem to be making out alright.

Bet that woke him up though.

No controls. It looks, fits, and feels nice though.
