i know NOTHING about car audio and was not planning on doing any spearker upgrades, but he wants to trade for something of mine and i might take it.

Don't do it. The guy doesn't have too much knowledge on car audio if he is referring to best buy Q logic boxes, let alone having one. Who knows what kind of abuse the subwoofer has seen.

Just needling in the dark, but if its coming from Phoenix Gold then the subwoofers can be all that bad though.

If you have not seen the "Octane" series from PG, you don't know what crap is.

The Sony from Walmart kicks its ass.

That sub is decent, the box is a hopeless pile of shit. I fix them with sledgehammers, so they fit better in the garbage can.

So, used 8 to 10 year old woofer in decent condition: $75
Box: do not dump this pile off at my shop, or I will come to your house and kick your dog.
