I was talking about the e36 dash thing... not his controls. Wouldn't want to do the e36 dash in an e30, but was just curious if it had been done already after someone mentioned it.

BTW George I still have that dash mat :)

I DO get full vent open and close movement
I DON'T get full button movement
Without the lever setup on the back, full vent flap travel is arrived at with half the button travel. (Think back to your basic physics classes at school re levers)

Hopefully that is a bit clearer

What I do want to do is change the vent control to a solenoid setup with push buttons mounted near the headlight switch and change the slide button part of the HVAC fascia to an ashtray/cointray
when you do that let me no, sliders are so 1990's...

I love the e30 dash. The only dashes that are better imo are the F1 and e39

I would say that an E36 dash is about 6" wider than an E30s.

Just guessing here, but I think it just might require some fabrication.

and thanks for the links, ill tackle this after the engine swap, i wasnt sure if the heater controls could be moved , question answered!! i dont think id put plastic around it though, carbon would look better.

now i need to find out which companies play divx, and have built in nav
