    Ungo alarm crapped out

My car has an Ungo alarm on it. It is 1992 325ic. I think it may have come on the car from the factory but really have no clue. The only thing I know about the alarm is it is a simple one button alarm, sounds a siren somewhere under the hood when it goes off, and has very sensitive contact sensors.

I was awoken a few hours after I had gotten to sleep by my alarm siren going crazy. This is strange because I did not set the alarm the last time I was working on the car. I rush out to my garage, where my car is currently sitting locked inside, on jack stands. I try the alarm button, no luck. Key in the ignition and turned to on seems to slowly wind down the siren. Like WEEEWOOWEEEWOOWEEWOO *turn key to on but dont crank over* WEEEEWOOOOOwahhhhhh------. Turn key back to off and and winds back up. So I yanked the positive battery terminal.

I am thinking there is a ground issue or a short somewhere, but with no one touching the car, the alarm being off to begin with, and the fact that its been sitting for a couple weeks makes me wonder what the hell could be going on.

I would appreciate anyones help who has had an issue like this, or installed alarms on these cars.

How would I go about disabling the alarm? Where should I even start with a trouble shooting process?

Update: plugged battery back in, appears to be mostly drained. Siren weakly started up with a few chirps here and there, located it next to one of the headlights and chopped it off. Will follow wires with tone and probe tomorrow and I guess I'll have to rip open my dash. Nows my chance to lay my new amp wiring, guess I'll just have to start on that project sooner than expected.

Shit, man...I guess I didn't post my reply!

      Sorry.

Sounds like weak battery to me. Give it some charge, see what happens.

Do you want to yank that alarm? Easy stuff, should only take about an hour, total.

Yeah I think I'm gonna just take it out. Would there be any newer alarm brains that would be a direct swap out? Or is the wiring totally different these days? That question will probably be near impossible for you to answer without knowing what the existing wire is, so when I rip the dash apart I'll map it out.
