Yeah, just hit the speaker wires (disconnected from amp) with a DVM on OHMS...you will get a close to correct reading, i.e., 4.63 ohms = 4 ohm driver.

Hah, I'll let you know an ohm reading. The cluster is hooked up to my driving sim right now as a tach, although who knows, I did kinda wanna put it on the shelf as a cool part.

Wow I havn't heard anybody talk about A/D/S for a good while.
My dads system was a mix of Nakamichi and A/D/S a while back.. Incredible sound

They were made back in the mid 80's and still sound great. They do color the sound a bit. I don't know how they compare to JL's and MB Quarts, but I am pretty sure either way would be a good way to go.

They were destroying the brand, I think they stopped selling products after a while.

A bunch of audio boards were speaking about their disappearance.

Well if your sound system is dynaudio/dynavox then hell yes i would be too! But, yes all others meh...


I agree with what you said though.The problem is that people have never heard "good" sound before. So through the whole ignorance is bliss thing, they will never want higher end because they are already satisfied with what they have.

Then certain brands are considered upgrades that are just somewhat, pure trash. I know install is more inportant the certain drivers being used, but in most cases its still you get what you pay for.

I can't stand audiobahn ever being considered to accurately reproduce bass or alpine Type R's being amazing sound quality woofers and so on and on.

No one realizes that a "sound system" should also include the front stage, so it's whatever cheap co axils you can get in usual shitty stock locations :( is what is done as the upgrade from stock.
