Operating temperature

I'm reluctant to crank up my sub when it's cold out, should I be? Is it really that sensitive? I'm talking temperatures around -10C.

Also, is it worthwhile to turn the volume down before turning it off to avoid abrupt starting/stopping? I'm usually over careful with stuff.

No and No. Lower temperatures will help (to a certain degree) and turning on or off with high volume doesn't matter.
Don't worry, if you're going to hurt it, it wont be related to either of those two things.
