    Alpine 10" Type-R 2OHM or 4OHM??

    Hey guys,

Quick question, what's the difference between 2ohm and 4ohm subs?

My friends are buying me a sub for my birthday, but I don't have an amp yet. I hear that it all depends on the amplifier. If I don't have an amp yet, and I most likely wanna go the more "affordable" route for the system, which one is better to get?

    Thanks

If you're going to bridge the sub to a 2 channel amp then get a 4 ohm sub. If it's a mono amp, get the 2 ohm sub.

        Oh ok, thanks.

Would you guys recommend to get a 4OHM sub with a 2 channel amp, or a 2OHM sub with a mono-amp? Is there any advantage to getting 4OHM over 2OHM?

That's assuming the mono amp is 1-ohm stable. All Type-R's are DVC.

It all depends on the amp. Share what amp you would like to use.

I have the Alpine 10" Type-R 4OHM right now, and I would like to use the MRP-M350. Can that be done?
