Has anyone tried Kenwood underseat subs in a vert?

:flamesuiton: I've got a vert, and I'm just looking for some plug-in bass fill without taking up any trunk space. Has anyone with a vert tried the Kenwood Woox or the newer version, the KSC-SW10? If so, how is fitment and sound?

2 wOOx should make enough bass in a vert to sound "OK-to-decent" and either way, a zillion times better than stock, right?

Now, go find those wOOx for under $50 each. I know they are out there.

LOL. My vert came with 4 Pioneer speakers which actually sound thinner than the stock premium system I had in my prior vert. So, like you said, anything should be an improvement.

I am always amaazed at what the stock BMW speakers sound like. I use them in the wifes '89 325i, with aftermarket crossovers, a small 4 channel amp and a single 12" sub. The car sounds great!

Soon, I will be working up a plan for 'verts....in the next 4 years or so, anyway.

What aftermarket crossovers do you speak of and recommend Luke?

And what amp to put the ass behind this type of setup would you recommend?

EDIT -- I might have a source on some Fosgate amps that date back to the late 80's. I will have to run my brother down on that one and see if he still has them...

Pretty much any aftermarket crossovers from a decent set of component speakers. Look for Mylar capacitors and light bulbs for tweeter protection...generally a benchmark for decent performance.

Where do you high pass stockies?
Also, what diameter of the subwoofer makes most sense in sealed box sealed against rear firewall? I have 8, 10 and few 12" kicking around.

Vert Bass?

I sure would like to know if you get this to work. The newer version looks like it is nearly 1" slimmer so you might have a chance under a seat but I think you would have to physically try it.
