static sound from rear speaker?

    static sound from rear speaker?

    a year ago i installed an alpine headunit, alpine 4 channel amp and infinity coaxils in my sedan, i recently noticed the rear passenger side speaker has a "static" sound coming from it...not all the time but off and on...what might be causing this?? any help is much appreciated, thanks fella's! happy 4th!!

    It is usually poor connections. I'd try the speaker first. Remove it and bump the wires to see if it gets better. If it does, fix your connections. Etc. Etc.

      Might be a "leaky" spark plug wire too.

        so i was down in the garage playing with the stereo and i swapped the rear speakers and it's not the speakers, they both work just not the passenger side.

        so then i switched the speaker wire (left side to right side) off the amp and thats where the problem is. now that i swapped the speaker wire the passenger side is working and the drivers side is now not working...hmmmm any suggestions?

          It means you have a shatty amp. Time to replace, or just quit using your rear speakers.

            hmm not sure about that, the amp is a new alpine amp, i have had great experiences with alpine in the past, really don't think its the amp though. i purchased the amp brand new less than a year ago, the car doesn't get driven too often (more now in the summer) but i'm stumped!
