Need to seal off the front speaker area for better sound?

Should I just install my aftermarket coax 5.25" speakers in the stock locations or should I add dynamat or some of those foam speaker baffles to get better sound? Right now the rear speakers sound way louder than the fronts, its like the fronts are on 1/2 power. I assumed it was because the location has a lousy "speaker box" where the trunk has a large air area.

So I'm wondering if I should put my first pair in the front or the rear or seal up the front etc till I get a second pair? Cheap Sony CD headunit is there FYI

Always put your good speakers in the front, I don't even run rear speakers - alot of people don't (I'm running stock locations aswell).
Just balance the sound on your headunit to the front.
If I were you, I'd ditch the coax's, or put them in that back and put a pair of splits up front, will get much better imaging.

on my M5, i dynamated the inside of the speaker hole and any hard surfaces within the hole.

then i installed the speaker. once the speaker was installed, i cut the dynomat into 1 inch by 1/2 inch strips, and proceded to seal the speaker of all holes and gaps.

this worked pretty well for keeping the phase alighned, and kept me from having to fiberlass new enclosures. everything looks stock with the kick pannels installed

I just picked up some premium rear speakers. You think they are worth installing or still go with fronts only?

I was thinking that the lack of sound from the front was because of the poor "box" that the speakers sit in (kick panel location). But you seem to be saying that with decent speakers it should sound fine? Maybe it's just because of the crappiness of the stock speakers.

I've read the premium speakers are worth getting though, not in the rear?
