    Problem with central locking system

I was wondering if you guys can help me out on this. My vert came with two keys, one for the driver's door and the other for glovebox, passenger door, trunk and ignition. So can I conclude the previous owner change the locks on the driver door? The other thing I notice when locking the car through the trunk it work for both doors, but when unlocking nothing happens. I heard from people that the stock locking system should be able to open and lock the doors from the trunk, right? If so where should I start looking. I want to figure this out before i throw a alarm system in the car. Thanks!

mine does thsi funny thing where I lock from teh truck, it will lock only if I turn to the left first then to the right . Its like clearing the system or something. one of these days I will check the locking mechanism behind the license plate and fix the damn thing.

Yes, you can re-key the lock to match your key if you want.

Does the central locking work correctly from the front doors? Or even just one of them? If so, it sounds like the trunk actuator isn't sending a lock signal properly. Take out the trunk lock actuator (very easy job) and move the trigger to send a lock and unlock signal. If this works then put it back and make sure the key linkage is moving the actuator properly and the actuator is adjusted right.

If the test fails, then either the actuator is faulty, or there might even be a short in the locking wires from the actuator to the central lock module.

About the door, when I lock the driver's door it also locks the passenger door. As for unlocking it only unlocks the driver's door. For the passenger, same using the key for ignition it opens that door.
