AMP not working?

I have a PPI 600.4 DCX amp.

I got everything wired up and what not today, and the amp pretty much doesn't work. When i turn on the head unit, a red light comes on on the amp for a second, which indicates (according to the manual) that the amp is being turned on by the remote signal cable. However, isntead of turning green like the manual says it should (shortly after), the amp instead turns off.

Any ideas?

Double-check your ground, test to see if the remote turn-on wire is staying on (my old deck lost the ability to keep it on, it would turn the amp on, then off and on again intermittently whenever it felt like it).

how can i check that if it has to be plugged in at both ends to be getting signal? and my ground is fine, hell, its bolted straight onto the battery

Ten bucks says that instead of having the remote lead from the deck going to the amp, you have the power antenna lead. Both are usually blue. It happened to a friend of mine once. It'll turn on for about 1-2 seconds and then turn off.

no. mr electronics James crivellone wired up the head unit, and everything was double checked.

first, the ext. control wire is labeled as such, as well as color coded in the manual.

the cables are all right

Do you hear any sound out of the amp during the short time it's on?

You may have to end up wiring a constant 12v lead to the amp and having a switch inline.

Unplug the amp side, press it with a test light, turn your key and watch the light?

did u check if everything worked before installing it all? was the amp werking at all before the install? best thing to do, is get another amp and try putting it in there. with changing any wires around.

I localized the problem to the head unit.

The amp powers up fine by wiring it with 12V straight from the battery ;)

My head unit isn't pushing the 10.5V it needs to push through the remote cable, for some reason. I tested all the connections powering it, and its getting 12V in on every appropriate lead.
