New "old" headunit - Cassette MP3 FTW

Ok, so it's not like its the best or anything but I'm glad I found this today. Pulled it out of a 5 series. It should blend in with the dash as it is flush, black, simple face. It's also cassette for that 90s vintage flair but has aux input as I only really plan on listening to MP3...

daaang, you're going to make me take another pic?

It has aux input, two preamp outs, CD changer out, 35x4 watts, and I could get a remote if i feel too lazy to lift my right arm.

Oh yeah, as you can see, this model came with a free cassette. Hope it's 1991 vintage rap!

          Can't remember, mid 90s? 525?

Someone had added this (not stock) and then added a cd changer in the rear as well.

I was actually looking for an OEM headunit to graft into my car but this is better as there's no theft code needed.

That deck has the coolest feature of any deck, period.

When you shut off the deck, either by key or by button, it will power on at a predetermined volume.

In the menu that volume is called "FIX VOLUME", and is adjustable...so if you screw up and turn it all the way up, it will blast you out of the car every time...or if intelligently adjusted, makes an excellent deck for normal use.

            Closing SOON!

That IS cool. Much more useful than the cars that turn the volume up as you drive faster.

Plus, cassette headunit is an automatic theft deterrant.

Blaupunkt makes some hot, period correct stuff. That head unit looks a lot like my brother's Portland CM85 (the only decent shot is located in their online manual, here.)

Was the auxiliary input a standard feature?

yes, the aux input is hardwired to the back of the unit (jack shows under the unit in the pic) and the "SRC" button will be my "MP3" button.

I hooked it up tonight. It has a little less power than the Sony "Xplode!" that was in it before but looks way better. I forgot to connect the illum wire so I'll see how it goes at night and may have to add that.

It does look like the next model after that link you posted for the CM85. Mine is 4x35W and the aux input is standard, along with two preamps and a CD changer connector.

Overall, very pleased that it works well and amazingly it DID come with a hip-hop mix tape in it!
