    Amp Install - Noob

Well, it's really no big deal, but this was my first ever amp install. I'm really kind of a freak about wiring, so it took me the better part of a week to re-run wiring in the car which involved a whole seat swap while I was at it. I had originally thought of installing the amp upside down under the rear shelf, but the trunk springs didn't allow for a flat install of the board. I used a left over piece of a desk for the board and liked the way the white looks against the white of the trunk.

I'm not entirely happy and still need to place the sub on the ski hole. If anyone has some pics of how they mounted the sub around the ski hole I would really appreciate the pics. I'm thinking of a ring of mdf and some speaker box carpet to clean up the install.

Just a pic. And old amp and active crossover. I'm definitely not an audiophile just the old alpine deck I was using had no powered leads so I needed the amp.

    Looks good.

Do a ring of MDF and then get some foam weather stripping for a seal.

Well, now I'm even less happy with it. I tested it while the engine was off and it was good, and I just got back from a test drive. I've got a serious feedback whirr. I think I'm going to ground the crossover to battery and see how that affects it. I grounded the amp to battery.

*edit* yep, that took care of the interference.
