electric Aux Fan diagram? Luke kit?

Alright, I need to get this aux fan working before finally putting in the radiator.

The picture below is the wires/plug that the aux fan has.

It is a puller (rear of the radiator) but needs to be a pusher (front of radiator).

So can anyone give me a diagram..paint is fine, showing me how to hook this up. Do I need or relay or just a straight line fuse would do? (obviously don't want fire) Does anyone make a kit that doesn't come with the thermo switch (autozone) for 25.00? I read a thread and someone said they got a kit for 5.00 but autozone here doesn't seem to have anything under 25.

Also, this is a 318i. Where could I find a wire and what color that has a constant charge so I don't have to run a single wire to the battery?
--Sorry but I'm a picture person

Its going to be run solely on a switch..not connected to the radiator.

Luke...Could you make me a simple kit?

Here is a rough sketch of what I kinda have been reading but still unsure how I am tying together the fuse and power from the car. I am looking at diagrams from different websites they are helping but most incorporate a second fan and a few other things.

Can anyone give us alittle help? Wiring is one thing I am not comfortable just experimenting with.

Connect fused power from car (green) to your switch. Connect the other side of the switch to your power for fan. Ground your ground wire from the fan.

Awesome man, Thanks. That will help get power easier too since it will be under the dash.

Will a fuse be alright or should I run a relay also?

How much does your fan draw?
Be careful where you pull power because the fans often use a lot of power. Also make sure your switch can handle all that power.

It would be best to run a relay. I'll post back showing how to do that with a basic relay.

You don't want to overload a circuit or start any fires :)

Why not just use what the car came with, the stock AUX fan does fine for most any motor, and you can use the stupid window breaker switch to make it manual.

You would need about 15' or so of normal speaker wire and 2 terminals, plus 2 butt connectors.

Well the Aux fan from an M42 won't work for the M30. So I upgraded to an electric fan. Now if I can take parts off the Aux fan, thats cool.

Here are the pics I have. I can get better so let me know. There are obviously plug in's from the car for this one.

OK, so use the stock relay system from the AC fan, then you have a normal thermostatic switch, and adding a manual bypass is really easy!
