Fan Only Works When Car Is Turning Over

When the car is cranking (mine goes a little too long so it's noticeable) the fan will blow but as soon as the car is on and running the fan turns off. I'm completely new to e30's, any ideas?

It sucks because I can't defrost and it gets all foggy and shit and I can't see.

    Is it an aftermarket fan?

Maybe, I am not using the term fan correctly. Maybe you would call this the blower. I'm talking about the interior controls for HVAC. Anyways...

I have no idea if it's aftermarket. It was working perfectly then I left my sunroof open and the passenger floor deck got super wet. Now it only works when the car is turning over, I thought it was unrelated.

Search "unloader relay". Do your power windows work properly?

They aren't exactly smooth, sometimes they actually have to have the button pushed down twice, but I figured they are super old and sticky. So I consider them okay by this car's standards. Is that always related or typical?

            I'll look up unloader relay.
