Heater only works on level 4??? Help me!

Hey guys

I'm looking at getting a 325ix...

One of the few problems it has is that the heater/ac (although the AC doesn't blow cold as of yet) only blows in level 4 (highest level)...

Nothing happens when going through levels 1 through 3..

What can this be?

I believe there is a resistor in there that goes bad which causes this issue.
A search of the forum will probably turn up the specifics.

Not a big deal, expect the resistor strip to be roached. Maybe use it as a stunt to get the price down, but don't expect to get much - it's a cheap fix.

Good luck IX hunting. A stock 5 speed coupe is a dream of mine.

Yeah, I changed the resistor board out in my M3 in about 15 minutes...the only thing you need to be careful with are the two plastic straps that hold the blower motor cover on...I broke both of them. I ordered new ones beforehand because I knew they would break but I ended up not putting them on becasue it was a bitch to get the old ones snapped out and the new ones in. Worked perfectly after that. Its quite a low-tech piece in the E30, jsut a board qith four coiled wired of different thickness, but it works, at least up to 150,000 miles for me....
