BMW bavaria CD ll wiring diagram

Hi all. i am looking for the wiring diagram to install an old school Bmw bavaria CD ll cartridge style cd player into my m3. does anyone have the diagram to adapt to 88 e30 wiring?

Todd, WTF, you found an old cartridge type deck from BMW?

I bet even DCColegrove would be surprised to see that thing.

Yamaha, Blowchunks and someone else pioneered the idea that people were willing to put a single CD inside a fucking case to play them...miserable dumbass idea, even back then.

However, that is really cool now, especially if you have a few cases hanging around.

As far as wiring, it really looks like the same plug as an E36.

Get me some details and closeup pics on that plug, I will see what I can do.

I will get some pics. It is a blowchunks manufactured unit. I have two.:) Also have 4 cartridges used and a box of NOS unopened cartridges.:) One unit apparently works, and the other doesn't. I have a buddy who is in electronics, and he is going to look at it for me.
I'll get back to the pics soon. Yes i am hoping I can get it to work with my stock premium sound system.

Todd, feeding that deck into your stock PS E30 amp will work fine.

Did your M3 come with a fader on the dash, or is the fader control in the deck?

Fader is on the dash. Stock deck is the finger slider one(technical term) in there now.
I just need to know what wires on the plug are for what to hook up.

Todd, a minor issue:

The business class CD has 4 outputs, the stock deck had 2. The fader split it into 4 outputs, so you would be better off running the 4 positive wires from the deck into the fader wiring so your deck would work properly.

Any idea what wires are for what on the deck? I don't know what wires on the deck plug does what.

Call your local car stereo shop.

Ask them if they have a "harness" for a E36, pre-'96.

The wire locations will be the same, adn should be an easy translation to your deck.

So I found the stock e36 wiring diagram and e30 wiring diagram and i see what you mean. The e30 has a l&r output for speakers. Where the e36 has fr/fl/rr/rl both positive and negative. So should I tie all the left output positives to the left channel of the stock harness and the right output positives to the right channel stock harness? If so what do I do with the negatives from the e36 deck? The e30 harness doesn't have them.

Todd, if you look carefully at the diagram, you will see the fader is before the amp.

You can use the 4 positives coming out of the fader as your inputs.

I would look myself, but we have 256K DSL at home, and it is slow as hell to read PDFs.

Ok i see that. so i basically bypass the fader control and tie the radio outputs into the for outputs from the fader, right? what do I do with the four negative outputs for the speakers from the e36 deck? I see that the e30 deck doesn't use negative outputs for the speakers. It seems to use a common grounding system.
