    My power door lock dilema

About a 6 months ago my car got broken into and my HU got stolen, heck even my bootleg CDs so i figured it was time for an alarm, i went out and bought an alarm and when i was getting it installed, the installer told me he couldnt find my power door lock solenoids, and me not knowing shit about my car almost let him install new ones for like 200, so any ways 2 weeks ago i bought some after market solenoids and went back to the same place, and the same installer was bitching about how my car was "way too hard to install the locks" now he wanted 150 just for labor but he told me that if i install them he would wire them up for 20 bucks, so i come home take the door panels off, kinda stare for a minute or 2 and what do i find, fucking solenoids
so it turns out i do have power door locks but im not gettin any power to them they wont even work from the trunk any advices

I just soldered it back together.

It is what happened when my power locks went out suddenly. the central lock module is located underneath your drivers side speaker. If you have a 318is, there is a cover panel that needs to be removed to access the central lock module.

of course there could be other malfunctions causing your locks to not work.

also I'm not a big fan of someone else installing alarms. I had to remove a POS install from my car. Even though I know nothing about electrical stuff, I figure I can do research, install it better, and save money in the end. but thats just me.

OK, so to make sure I understand you, your car has factory power locks (central locking) AND aftermarket solenoids?

Cool then. I have seen so many E30s (and E34 and E36!) with aftermarket actuators strapped on with the factory actuators...lets not even get into VW or MBZ...lots of dumb installers out there.

Here is a quick test: Check voltage coming out of the central lock module. White and blue are the correct colors, they run the locks. You should see a solid ground on both wires while it is resting, with one of them switching to +12V when actuated.

Are you getting a click when you try to lock the door?

ok i checked and no power whatsoever no click either plus the actuators seem preety stiff the passanger one was completely stuck so i put the ones i bought instead of the stock ones and they bolted right on, now how do i wire them up to my alarm they only have 2 wires blue and green
