    Half the cluster won't work

My tach, and temp gauge are dead, lights all work, new batteries on a new si board. Are there any other common issues before I start tracing wires?

You want to definitely check the fuses first. I had the gas, rpm, and temp gauge go out and it was only a fuse. I've learned if any electrical goes out, check fuses first :)

You may be ASE,but do you know OLD BMW Fuse's?

No disrespect, but ive met some pretty stupid ASE's tech's.

do the easy thing first, swap clusters, after you have checked the fuse's.
Im sure someone near you has a spare cluster to loan you.

I test fuses not look at them (test light and multi meter have found many bad good looking fuses) I have swapped clusters, same issue. Grounds are good, looks like time to chase wiring

Longshot - Did you replace the batteries yourself? One side of the battery has 2 pegs going into the circuit board. Only 1 peg is "live", the other seems to be for strength. Make sure you connected the wiring / battery to the "live" peg.
