    Rear speakers for Cabrios?

Not much out there that will fit.

I'm currently running a Clarion DXZ785USB HU with the Factory BMW Amp bypassed and the Factory speakers.

The Front speakers and Tweets actually sound decent, but the rear Cabrio speakers are terrible, probably due to the limited depth for mounting and no space for Bass like a trunk would provide.

Any recommendations for a decent pair of rear speakers that would fit the Cabrio and not sound like crap?

Id like to know too. although in the cabrio most the sound your gonna hear is from the front speakers. Id recomend just upgrading the fronts first. A nice component set should really increase your sound quality. I recomend MB Quart, Handmade in germany. cant beat that.

I actually pulled mine and have no intentions of putting anything back in...although I could try putting the stockers back in to see how they sound, but then I'd have to run speaker wire back there....ah...screw it.

actually most of the sound youll hear is from the back speakers as they point directly at your ears and the front speakers point right at your ankles.

as far as upgrades go, i saw a bmw option on ebay.de for an add on in place of the rear grill peice that stepped the mounting out an inch or so and had a spot for a tweeter in it too. i think the best option would be some kind of custom speaker box, but it would need some fiberglassing

Can we get some better pics of that setup?

Looks nice from here, what drivers fit?

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm just looking for plug and play and have no desire at this time to customize the interior in order to custom fit speakers, especially seeing how I spend about 4,000 per year driving.

Surely someone has replaced their rear factory speakers with decent replacements that fit without customizing.

It requires a thin 5.25" speaker with a tweeter that does not protrude.

Plus the damn thing is basically hanging in midair, so shitty sound no matter what you run. The location is poorly executed, to say the least.

Try a set of Infinity References. Cheap, kinda thin, decent sound.

Measure available space before you buy!
