My car's not even going to have an antenna. Shit, the antenna isn't even going to be plugged into my deck.

Radio is the death of good music. I can't count how many great songs I've ended up hating because the radio overplayed the shit out of them.

I think the only time I ever listen to the radio is in the mornings, I occasionally listen to Bob & Tom for a laugh or two. I won't miss 'em, though.

I occasionaly listen to a local jazz and experimental station that is aired from a local college. Other then that I don't like anything on the radio.

some headunits use the antena as a ground, and will not turn on without the antena plugged in (some alpines do this) i am sure there are others

Please ignore the post above, no radio ever made uses the antenna as a ground. None. Ever. Certainly no Alpine ever has, nor ever will. Please bear in mind I have been a professional installer since September 23, 1980. I am occasionally wrong, but I promise you, not this time.

Several factory decks use their chassis as a ground, so if say, a Sentra (or most Pathfinders) had its unit out (hahaha..unit out...get it?) the only ground it would have available would be the antenna because there is no ground in the factory harness.

This would make it seem that the deck grounds through the antenna.

Furthermore, all of you people who like Jordans' amp location (which is where I have an AudioControl 6XS on a cute little upholstered plate, flushmounted) please be aware you will suffer a horrible reduction in FM reception should you choose to do that location. You could also move here, where radio is gay. Just ask Jordan!

All amplifiers use a power supply to raise the 12 volts available in an automotive electrical system. More than 12 volts are needed to make real power. The power supply in the amp has a high speed switching device that causes RF interference, thus a radiated field of RF "noise", limiting FM reception for about 2 feet or so, depending on quality of amplifier.

Most car amps will emit audible sound if you crank them up with no speakers attached. A tiny high pitched squealing, with the rythm of the music played. Disconnect your speakers and try it...too weird. Jordan can tell you his crossovers make noise too, but you can find out on your own.

Jordan, got pics of the box yet? Hows it sound? Did you fire through the back seat? Where is the port? ya boomin' yet? Yo?

Can you elaborate on this at all.. I know its probably really simple.. But..

Its just zip ties through the mounting holes in the amp, through holes in the carpet.

I dont see what needs explaining?
