    Bluetooth headunits

    Hey guys,

I'm looking for a Bluetooth headunit on the inexpensive side, $200-$300, for my wife's 05 Xterra. From what I can see there are 2 types, built in mic and external mic. Looks like the ones with the external mics you buy the headunit and then a Bluetooth adapter. I am more worried about the bluetooth quality that the radio sound quality. What Im trying to say is i'm not putting a system in the truck. Any reccomendations? Should I stay away from the built in mic ones? It seems they might cause an echo-y sound for the person on the other side of the car. Anyone have and experience?

    thanks,

    Jeff

Jeff, do not even think about buying a BT radio. Some suck less than others, but ALL of them suck.

http://www.amazon.com/Parrot-CK3100-.../dp/B000621SN0 Is the best BT kit I have heard.

I keep praying for Pioneers AVIC F500BT to fall into my lap.

    GL!

Is your N2 in your E30?

I have an N2 in my Astro van.

        I hate the fucking thing.

        What maps do you have?

I have the Blaupunkt MP68 H/U with bluetooth built-in in my Z3 Coupe.

I like being able to see the caller's name on the H/U. You still have to mount a mic though. My mic runs up the front piller and comes out by the grab-handle.

I had Parrot system with my BMW Traffic Pro H/U before the MP68, and it also worked well, but you also have to find somewhere to mount the screen/controller. Both units mute the radio when a call comes in. The Parrot also had voice announcement and commands. The Traffic Pro and Parrot are going into my 318i and I'll prolly mount the screen inside the front ashtray.
