Fan speed only works on 4

    Hi
My fan speed only works on 4. Sometimes, as the day warms up it seems, it will work on 1,2,3 and 4. How do I determine if it is the switch on the HVAC panel or the resistor in the blower motor box under the windshield wiper cowling.
THis is for an 89 325i

Thanks for your help in advance...its COLD!!

Either clean the resistor or just buy a new one for like $20. Even if it doesn't work, it's an easy swap and it's a wear item anyways.

New resisitor board...20 minute job, I'm pretty positive it isn't the switch. The resitors in all E30s fail after awhile.

      This should be correct P/N - 64111370927

Edit- I fail, that wa for Canada

      This is your P/N

          what the

It's in the cowl, under the windshield. You get at it from under the hood.
