im sure you could make a spacer and some custom fiberglass stuff if you wanted to go that far.

sometime last year i looked on ebay.de and found a different cabrio rear speaker cover that came from factory. took away the armrest and even had space for a tweeter

Its better... but I cant really compare, my original set up was a stock

panasonic deck powering the stock speakers with no amplifier, and mediocre 18 gauge wires.

now its blaupunkt sd48, to mtx 704x to the speakers, with double insulated 12 gauge wires.

so I was expecting it to be better, but I have no idea how much better. Its cleaner sound, but its no audiophile grade. I would definitely need a sub in the near future, the lows are minimal.
Thanks for the link. Those have the tweeters that you can "aim", right?

Any issues with installing or did they screw right in?

you have to put the speakers behind the panel, and then use some washers as spacers, 8mm washers, use 4 of them stacked. use a large bracket. ITs uber easy. you just have to see it to know what I'm talking about. (I solder the washers together with some flux and rosen solder so they are easy to install. I would suggest doing that.

You can also jsut toss the crossovers behind the panel. They are the inline type, very light, you can double side tape them, but I didnt and they dont rattle or have any problems.

I was thinking of putting smaller speakers in, 4" or so, then bass through the rear seats.
