no idea where to get them, try bimmerforums stereo section.

Luke. I think I am going to use my 8 inch sub. I just need to build some sort of enclosure for it. I have no rear speakers so the sound should travel into the cabin fairly well.

I'll redo the e30. I never seem to get it sounding right anyway.

I'm probably going to go with Bavarian Soundwerks E36 upgrade sometime next year, you get all 10 speakers for $499+ shipping, they are all direct fit too. I'm sure there are better "system" speakers but I like the fact they are direct fit.

I no longer have a factory amp. The BSW stuff is a great upgrade if you aren't into getting your hands dirty. From what I understand it sounds pretty good as well. Its nice if you want to keep the stock amp and headunit as well. My car is past the point where that stuff makes sense. Good luck.

These are decent, but frankly, if the stock stuff is in good shape, don't bother.

Power is found in the amplifier. Clarity and detail are found in the crossovers.

Speakers (just the driver itself, mind you) just move air, they are the least important part of the sound. Yes there is a significant difference in sound with better speakers (called "drivers" in the biz) and spending $500 for the minimal upgrade that you will hear using their stuff...well, like I said, don't bother.

Hey Dave, what woofer you got?

an 8 inch CDT. Its mounted in my ix at the moment so I don't have the model. I tried to buy a second and they are NLA.

I'll see if I have the box at my dads.

I think I might have to do a series of E36 boxes. Too damn many requests to ignore!

FYI coupe trunk is longer than sedan, found this out the hard way.

Those are designed to replace the HK system and there is modification needed to make the mid woofer fit in a pre 95' e36. I just replaced the mids in my 94' with OE at $50 each. The tweeters that came in that kit to replace just the door speakers were actually CDT tw19's but they might have changed the manufacturer since that was almost 3 years ago.

CDT is currently offering a two-for-one sale on subs right nowhttp://www.cdtaudio.com/sub_woofers_08.htm
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

Yeah, I think the coupe is 34" while the sedan is 36"...something like that.

I test fit like 12 times before I call the fit done.

Thanks for the heads up though!

                        Backwards on your measurements....
Although I'm not complete sure on the specific length difference the two inches sounds about right, since that's how much bigger my whole trunk set up was when I went to swap everything into my sedan. I figured you would know but I figured I'd throw that out there, so you're welcome.

any thoughts on the CDT EF-8.

What if I just build a smalled sealed box and put it on the floor behind the passenger seat. I never have passengers in the rear. I just put real estate signs back there for the most part.

I'd like to do something nice in the trunk but this might be a good temporary solution until I can plan everything out and get the components I really want (not sure what those are).

                          thoughts?

To "know" means basically "to remember" once you have been exposed.

Lemme put it like this: I believe I am incapable of developing glaucoma.

So yeah, no memory left for me.

Dave, if you are gonna build a box for that 8", why not use the box it is in right now?

its running free air currently. I have a box I built for a 10 a while back, but I don't think it will fit where I want to put this.
