JVC head unit AUX input not working?

I have a JVC KD-SX990 head unit in my car and when I plug in my iPod to the mp3 input, nothing happens. There is also no type of aux button on the head unit either.

WTB: '89-'91 5spd 318is/325is in Tri State area.
