Blaupunkt THb 200A

Hey guys , as some of you know I have a convertible . As I wanted to add some bass to my car (the rest of the sound is superb) , and I know the common problems of the bass in a convertible , I will buy tommorow a Blaupunkt THb 200A , and I'll try to make it fit unde the driver's seat .
I will surely let you know how it feels , but if any of you have\had it and could share an oppinion I would be thankful . Thanks all !

I purchased this unit for my Audi TT Conv. Due to the lack of room, I thought this would be a great solution. The unit is very tiny. Its small enough to fit behind the seat of a small convertible by only moving the seat up slightly.

How it sounded: I am running 1 set of 6 1/2" components and 1 set of 3 1/2" coax off the power of a 25watt(rms) receiver. So the sub unit didn't have much to compete with volume wise. I was only looking for a little bit of fill bass...wasn't expecting much at all due to the size. I am not exaggerating at all by stating that I could only hear the unit by putting my ear directly on it! Had the gains all the way up and adjusted the crossover.

Unless you plan on strapping 2 of these units to the side of your head...don't waste your money. Its truly a joke.

For an old man of 37, this was a perfect product. I was looking for extra depth for my new stereo and this product gave me exactly that. I was looking for something compact and something that would not rattle my teeth and this product gave me both. It fits nicely under the back seat of my Ford Explorer and is not over-powering. I did not give it five stars because for a do-it-yourself installer like myself, the directions were very unclear and I was informed by Crutchfield tech support that I needed to install an inline fuse, which was not a problem but the directions said nothing about that. Overall, a very good, high quality product. Great purchase.

If that does fit under your seat, I would do 2.

Way back in the day, we used to do 4) 6.5" SEAS drivers under the seats of 911's.

I will consider that . The fact is I don't want loud , thumping bass . I just want some clear , nicely heard bass :D

I've been looking at that sub as well, along with the BOSS BASS600

I don't need something that sets off car alarms and rattles the car apart, just something that adds a little thump.

It should fit under the driver seat. I measured the other day and 2.8 inches is workable.

Let me know how yours works out.

Today I went for it . I bought the blaupunkt , and pro mounted it at their service . It couldn't fit under my seat , because I sit in the "low" position :D , so I put it at the passenger's seating behind the driver feet , heading towards my seat . It's great , loud enough bass , to make the seats vibrate , bass is feeling good , it's a great sub for persons who just want to feel and hear the bass , but not something for kids who want to impress with their car who has a "shaking body" . Overall impression : very satisfied !

How does it sound with the top down?

I'm probably going to go with the same low-profile sub.

well , of course it doesn't have the same strength with the top down , but you can still feel the difference . This is what my car was lacking , and now I feel that I have what I need .

I just bought a BOSS BASS600 low-profile powered subwoofer.

It's like the Blaupunkt, but it was less expensive.

It will arrive next week and I'm going to mount it and tweak the settings.

I believe too get the best sound out of your sub, turn up your HU about 2/3rds of the way and adjust the settings on your sub.

Does your HU have a High Pass Filter adjustment?

congratulations, we are waiting for your feedback . That was the way that I set it up actually and I am very pleased with it .
I don't think my HU has a high pass filter adjustment , but I would sure like to know if it's good for something :D . I like it because it looks OEM and it has that fixed volume that you set for when the HU starts .
