engine oil sensor wire melted started slow to start?

i don't know what to do, my starter was initially slow to start, so i replaced it. going to start same deal. i notice a puff of smoke took apart the intake and thats what i found. engine oil light is on obviously but i dont understand how this would stop my starter from turning over and how that would smoke up... help.

You probably have a bad ground, and the starter was grounding through whatever path it could. Turns out that in your situation the oil pressure light was the smallest path, so now its also the most crispy path.
