FOCAL component speakers on ther e30???

Im trying to set up my vert just a midrange set up. i heard about FOCAL speakers just wana know if anybody has this on there car? i just want to know how's the sound like? tanx!

i have used their home stuff and it was great. that stuff is about 10 years old though. i don't know if they are crap now.

6 1/2 in kicks panels

I put some Focals 6 1/2 in my custom kicks I built and replaced the crap BMW tweeter with a Focal. BIG difference... Fills out the front stage nicely with rear low fill from 3 sealed 8w6's in a microsub box.

i have focal 5 1/4 in the front of my coupe..awesome for vocals and midrange, not the best on bass. just make sure you got some clean power to them and you will probably have to turn down the tweeters a bit, they are a bit harsh. but i love them.

The tweeters are metal dome, so they can be bright. The Focals generally have solid mid-bass...unless they are hooked up out of phase, then they have next to none...just a heads up.

Yeah that microsub box that holds three 8w6"s dual voice coils I like a lot. Lots of room in the trunk too.I have another one sitting in the garage-don't want to give it just yet. Tight,not boomy. I work as a sound mixer in film and TV for over 22 years so my ears are different then most others.Not better or worse, just trained differently. I would luv to here one of Lukes bad boy boxes one day. Any one in NY area have one?

Focals are decent speakers. Bright as hell IMO, but decent clarity unless pushed really hard. I suppose that would depend on which ones in specific, though. I installed a set of their flagship compoents and frankly was not impressed with the price/performance ratio...I mean $900 should give you an erection every damn time, right?

I still prefer the Exile XT65s myself. In the doors of a '91 coupe, they were just stunning, and especially for $350/set.

Any one in NY area have one?

i hated the focals i had in my car, so bright. They were great for electronic stuff though.
