Reverse lights on while driving??

My reverse lights stay on when im driving i think from first through third...anyhow I keep getting pulled over and help would be great85 5spd 325e

as a temporary fix, unplug the switch.

Pop your shifter boot and look for the 2 pin plug coming from a rubber boot around the shifter...unplug, done.

I just took out the bulbs

the wire comes up through the shifter hole, make sure it isn't frayed and shorting to the sheet metal. more likely to be faulty or gunked up switch.
