Which aftermarket speakers fit Premium housings?

I want to keep my car looking as stock as possible, so I bought some front and rear premium speakers. I want to gut them and install aftermarket speakers inside.

As far as the rears, I'd be happy with full-range 5 1/4s, but I'm worried that the tweeter will sit too high for the premiums speaker's grill. Do you know which brand 5 1/4 full range speakers will fit under the premium grills?

As for the fronts, I want to install 5 1/4 components. Are the premium speaker tweeter housings a universal fit for the tweeters that would come with 5 1/4 components? Can you recommend a brand of 5 1/4 speaker that will definitely fit?

Lastly, how about a small amp to power it all up?

Bonus points if you pick all the pieces from the Crutchfield Specials catalogue http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...aspx?sg=1#1017 THANKS

Of the stuff listed there, the Infinity reference is the winner in my book.

Its a shame you didn't jump on the Exiles I was doing for $120/set...kicked the shit out of anything listed at even triple the price.

I'm running Infinity Reference components in the front of my E36. Well just the mids and crossovers and kept my factory tweeters, because I really don't like the Reference ones (harsh, IMO). Result: Great sound for the money.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try the Infinity Reference 2-ways in my rear premium housings. The tweeter looks low enough to not hit the Premium housing's speaker grill. Has anyone tried installing them in the Premium housings?

And maybe some Infinity Reference components for the front speakers, thanks for the advice Mystikal.

Any further speaker advice is appreciated. And I still need to pick a small, inexpensive amp.

i know that my Lanzars fit.
the 5 1/4" dropped right in
the tweeters took a little trimming on the outer trim ring, but the covers still fit no problem

i also put another pair of the Lanzar 5 1/4"s in the front kick too.

i am going to put these CV tweeters on the stock door location because they don't have a huge magnet and the pods don't seem to lock in very well.

IMO, the best sounding cheap 5.25" speakers out there are the Memphis MSyncs.
