      I pay $300.00 for that.

it exists in the form of a becker, however these are very hard to find in North America and cost alot more than 300$.

clarion still not doing it for me.

I've seen those, as well as the CD43 and they look nice but are expensive and don't have all of the features I would like.

If I had $500+ to spend on an HU, I would have gone a different route, but for $150.00, the Clarion HU sounds great, looks good IMO as it matches the E30 color scheme and has all the features I required.

Another good choice is the Blaupunkt Brisbane that's pictured in the Alpine thread.

Around $150.00 and has a good, clean look and adjustable colors, but doesn't play CD's

That was a bit of a deal breaker for me as I still have lots of CD's and not everything I have is on MP3 nor do I want to spend time converting files.

which feature is missing from the becker that you need? it's got bluetooth handsfree, ipod control, usb, full quality amp with all the pre-outs and connections and adjustments you need.

but i agree about the price, not so interesting.

matching the e30 illumination is my priority and i love this deck. i know it's outdated but it plays mp3 and i was able to hook up an ipod. definitely meet my needs.

Ahh yes, the good 'ol Alpine CDA-7894...I have owned a few of those before and had them in E30's and an E36. Really nice headunit and they are available for not much money these days. I now have a CDA-9835 and a CDA-9855-same basic layout as the 7894, but they have some added features and the superb Biolite display that is hard to beat.

By the way-if anyone is interested in the Clarion that I mentioned in this thread, I am going to sell mine. I hooked it up to try it out and it works fine, but I prefer the Alpine. Has been used for a total of 15 minutes max and was never actually installed. Let me know if you are interested.
