Where to run 8 gauge wiring to power an amp?

Correction: 6 gauge wire run, not 8 gauge.

This weekend, I'm going to add a low-profile sub with built in amp to my system.

I have a Boss Bass 600 that is either going under my seat or behind the seat mounted vertically.

I have the wiring, RCA cable, connectors, in-line fuse holder, etc...

Where would be the best place to run that fat wire to the engine compartment as the battery on cabby's is up front.

I'll probably run the RCA and the remote power to the HU in the center console, but have that 6 gauge wire to run to the battery.

I can find a spot in the back for the ground, it's just the main power I haven't figured out yet.

    Suggestions?

On e28 I ran it through the grommet where ECU loom enters the cabin. Make sure you run power cable separate from RCA.

Yeah, I've heard about the static issues/alternator whine.

Maybe I'll run the power on one side of the center console and RCA's on the other.

      Thanks.

I ran my rca's right down the middle past the shifter and ebrake under the carpet.

I ran all my thick wire to the passenger side under the rocker cover panel. There is very little wires there. you shoudl be able to put it in the wire loom clip.

            That's another good suggestion.

When I rewired my rear speakers, I ran everything on the driver side, so I imagine there isn't much on the pass. side so the power to the battery might go there and the RCA connectors and remote power on to the HU will probably go under the center console.

I'm not going to mess with it until I have time and daylight on the weekend. It's supposed to be 60 degrees and sunny so the top might even go into temporary hiding for a day or two.

            Thanks.

Word of advice: home depot has this 4 strand in one sleeve wire for home audio, good size, low price, makes installation easy. Do one run of it from the amplifier to the dashboard, than open it up at the dash end and extend one pair left and one pair right.

QFT, fool proof. and you only really have to hide about 8 inches of cable on that little gap of carpet between the back seats and center console.
